Xavier Gonzales - Triangle Potters Guild - November 2006 Demonstration

Xavier’s crystalline glazed work has been shown in galleries and at art shows throughout the country. His work was featured on the cover of the May/June 2006 issue of Clay Times, which contained a five page article about Xavier and his work. He was also featured in the March/April 2003 issue of Clay Times. Xavier’s crystalline vase was an award winner at the nationally juried show “Feats of Clay” in 2003. His work was selected for the 12th Annual Strictly Functional Pottery National in 2004, and the 25th Annual July National Exhibition in 2005. Three pieces of his work were showcased in The American Ceramics Society President’s Show in 2005; and he was a participant and his work was featured in “Lattice Structures”, An International Exhibition of Crystalline Ceramics in 2005. Xavier Gonzalez maintains his studio in Sherman Oaks, California. He is a native of Southern California; born in Hollywood. He has been working with clay for more than 30 years. He has, however, been focusing on crystalline-glazed porcelain for the past 17 years. Xavier studied ceramics at Santa Barbara City College, Long Beach State University, and California State University at Northridge. He received his degree from CSU at Northridge and his teaching credential from Chapman University. ![]() |
